Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is one of the most popular MOBA games in today’s era. The game is popular in the Asian countries, especially in the Philippines. Recently, the legendary boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, became its official Ambassador. Aside from being an ambassador, the boxing icon will likely be the new champion model that will come out soon.
For Pacquiao, the Ambassador’s decision was an easy choice as he dramatically admires the game and the people who play it. The champion boxer compares the MOBA game to his sport, boxing.
He sees a parallel between the 2, likely in terms of competitiveness and dedication needed to be a champion in boxing or Mobile Legends esports. Pacquiao even mentioned that his son is an avid player of Mobile Legends.
Aside from being an ambassador, a new hero will also be introduced soon. The hero will get based on the boxing icon, likely a fighter hero who focuses on boxing moves. Let’sLet’s discuss this development more in this article.
What Does a Product Ambassador Do?
In case you don’t know when Manny Pacquiao decided to become the Ambassador of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, he agreed to represent the game in a positive light. By being the game’s Ambassador, the developers can use Pacquiao’sPacquiao’s image in promotions, events, and other marketing campaigns that they may have. The goal here is to use the Ambassador’s fame and reach to increase brand awareness and increase possible downloads and active players.
The boxing legend’s image is already used in several promotions and events that Mobile Legends have. The developers are likely hoping that it would increase participation in these events with the icon’s help. The exciting thing about this move is that the partnership with Pacquiao’s association comes after Mobile Legends celebrated a milestone. The game has already achieved more than 1 billion downloads globally, making it one of the most downloaded MOBA games.
Despite the achievement, the developers still sought a partnership with one of the best boxers in the world in Manny Pacquiao. This point shows that they are not satisfied with just achieving 1 billion downloads. They likely want to continue the trend and get more people to download and play the game. In the next section, let’s discuss the new champion that’s likely going to be based on the boxing icon.
The Upcoming MBLL Hero
When Mobile Legends: Bang Bang partnered with Manny Pacquiao, they didn’t just make him the game’s ambassador. They also created a hero “Paquito – The Heavenly Fist” which turns out to be a champion boxer. The new name will be a fighter hero who specializes in dealing with damage. He doesn’t look like the iconic boxer, but the hero does look like a boxer.
The Skills of Paquito
Like Manny Pacquiao, the new hero is also a righteous champion. As a boxer, the new hero’s skills are also based on boxing moves. Though Paquito is only available on advanced servers, his skills were already leaked. His passive is the Champ Stance, a stack that the hero builds up as he deals damage using his basic attack. Once the pile reaches 4, he enters into Champ Stance, enhancing his next skill and skipping its cooldown.
Another skill is Parry, which is a defensive skill. Once activated, Paquito can parry for 2 seconds, reduce damage by 30% at the base level, and increase movement speed by 30%. Use the skill again, and he deals heavy damage with 220 damage at the base level.
The third skill is Jab. This skill makes Paquito dash forward to Jab the enemy and deal 420 damage at the base level (+120% Total Physical Attack) physical damage to all enemies within the area of effect. His Ultimate is the Annihilation Strike.
The skill will launch an elbow strike to all enemies at the front, dealing 120 damage at the base level (+105% Total Physical Attack) physical damage. The skill will also push them towards the destination. Then Paquito will swing a quick haymaker that will deal 400 damage at the base level (+100% Total Physical Attack) physical damage and slows the target by 75% for 1 second.
The hero looks like a powerful fighter. Unfortunately, it’s not yet available on all servers. But it seems the new champion will be open to all servers by January 2021, so it will only be a short wait.
It’s a great move on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s part making the boxing legend Manny Pacquiao as its ambassador. It’s an even more significant move that they came out with a new hero based on the champion boxer. This could likely attract more active players into the game.
